New Knife!

There’s a new knife in the shop!

I like this one! I really do. It’s discounted due to a slightly off center notch in the bowl that displays the ulu but, otherwise, it’s a pretty set. The color and grain pattern of the knife handle are beautiful! The bowl is unique (for us) in that it is engraved in both corners. It’s a really great inexpensive kitchen set, easy to use, feels great in the hand… I think you’ll like it. So what if your ulu isn’t centered *exactly* in the middle at this price right?! :-D

Stop by for a closer look! You won’t be disappointed.

‘Til next time,

New Knife!

Here is the latest knife in shop!

These are great prices discounted for summer, clearance and various other reasons. If you’ve been waiting on just the right knife, now’s the time to make away with a steal! ;-)

This knife is antler which we also don’t offer too often.

Ulus are really easy to use, take less effort than a regular knife and are unique to boot. As you would expect, I have several I use in my kitchen. They really are my favorite knife! The only other knives I use in their place would be a couple of paring knives. I just haven’t figured out how to peel a potato or an apple with an ulu…not without hurting myself. Yet. ;-)

New Knife!

There’s another new knife in the shop!

Check it out here. We have very few of these bowls left so if you’ve been waiting for a knife matched with one…don’t wait to order!

There are more I’ll be posting soon. My “new” computer crashed and I’m back to using the wimpy decrepit laptop. It takes longer so bear with me…

Summer, Books and Amazon

Hi Everyone!

Just a quick note to say I’m writing those catch up posts a little here and a little there. Things are quite busy for us in the summer what with the business and the fact we practically live outdoors all summer enjoying our freedom!

I got your comment Rebekah! Thanks for staying in touch!

If you haven’t noticed, our book lists in the sidebar have exploded! Guess we haven’t been too busy to find time to read. ;-) Summer lends itself to lolling in the grass with a good read just as a winter fire in the fireplace does! None of us can imagine never having something to read or never a minute or two to flip open our books! (or mags, etc.) In the car, on the swing, sitting on a log, lying on the deck or even sanding handles (!), all of us (that have learned so far) always have something to read close by. (Even those that haven’t learned to read yet are frequently found looking at their picture books!) Or, books on tape/cd. I love how we fit in knowledge or imagination into our days this way! So, what are you reading this summer hmmm? ;-)

I’ve been squeezing in a little gardening too. Far from what I want to be doing…but I’m not complaining. I’m thankful for what little bit we having growing at the moment considering circumstances/situation as it is.

If you are still with me after that bit of a ramble, I’ll get to the Amazon part of my title now. I have been using Swagbucks for some time. I love it! Mostly, I’ve been letting the SBs accumulate and then redeeming them for Amazon online gift cards. I made an order a few months ago (yay - free $$$ to spend! Yes, it’s legit. ;-) ) and was very pleased with how it all worked out. Very pleased! My Amazon cards have now been stacking up as I’m a choosy shopper/very frugal and I just haven’t decided what I want to get. (Both needs and wants are more numerous than the SBs just like with real $ unfortunately. *sigh*) Anyhow, I think I’m closer to deciding and this time I want to link up with someone and benefit them with my purchase as well. You can’t get a commission on your on purchases through your own affiliate links (bummer huh?!) and so I wasn’t really thinking about it when I ordered last. This time though I want to partner up with someone - I’ll use your link if you’ll use mine!! I know I could stop by a blog here or there and find someone’s to use…but what I really want is to benefit someone who is interested and cares about our family and helping us out and doing the same for them! So, if you read here and have an Amazon affiliate link and would commit to using mine in return, I’d like to hear from you! If you have used it, let me know what date you placed an order and I’d be happy to return the favor the next time I make a purchase. If there is more than one person interested, I’ll do a rotation of links. How does that sound? Any takers? Again, if you didn’t catch the addendum to my last post, I unknowingly chose a template that doesn’t show comments. I can see them through admin but they don’t show for everyone else. So, don’t hesitate to leave one regarding this - I’ll be able to read it!

Thanks for stopping by. :-)

‘Til next time,
Tamara

PS - Here is a quick link again to Amazon or you can click on the affiliate button in the sidebar under Sponsors. Thanks!

New Knives in the Shop!

Stop by and see the latest knives in the shop!

We have three in a lower price range and definitely perfect kitchen tools! They are simple yet beautiful so if you just want to display them they are good for that too. There are also two in an upper price range. While they could also be utilitarian, they make exceptional gift and display items!

We are getting busier with large wholesale orders gearing up for the tourist season. Every now and then we are able to toss in a few knives that are separate from these orders and offer them for retail. Get them while they’re here!

Recent Custom Order

We’ve been really busy with a large order lately but I thought I’d share a recent custom order that we finished in the midst of it.

Outside My Window…3″ of new snow, blue sky, bright sunshine. Clouds are supposed to be gathering soon though.

I am thinking…how nice it would be to get back into some sort of a routine…to find a happy balance in housework, homeschool, home business and fun time.

I am thankful for…a warm strong house. Last week’s storm is still fresh in my mind. That although we lost our crabapple tree (for the most part), the other trees that fell didn’t damage the house and the damage to the Suburban is minimal!

From the kitchen…we had a yummy brunch of kefir soaked gluten-free oats with fresh homemade crabapplesauce drizzled with honey and Cheesy Potato Spinach Bake. More crabapplesauce is being processed today. Dinner is still being decided. I’m looking forward to making my first batch of kombucha sometime this week too - as soon as my scoby gets here! I’m excited!

I am wearing…a black and white plaid flannel skirt, white tshirt, black apron and dark multi-colored Sketchers. My hair is in a bun.

I am creating…no sewing/craft projects right now. I’m working on cleaning out my craft closet and rediscovering a bunch of goodies that are inspiring me to start crafting again soon!

I am going…to stay at home today where it’s cozy and I’m content!

I am reading…lots! Reference my sidebar to the right. ;-)

I am hoping…to make some progress again soon on our remodeling projects. Our flooring is a disaster and nice flooring would be such a blessing before the holidays! There’s so much more to it than what’s stated… It would make our home so much more liveable and comfortable for our own family and it would open my heart and mind to being more hospitable to others. Things I’ve been desiring for some time…

I am hearing…the radio in the garage and my dh working out there with our two sons because he has the door propped open.

Around the house…things are in disarray throughout the house because we’ve all been extremely sick for more than a week and are still recovering. However, today we are attempting to get back into a routine and slowly but surely getting certain areas in order again. Desperately seeking order again!

One of my favorite things…the big bear hugs my 18 month little girl loves to lavish on me! *melt* :-)

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: Continuing to bring order to my home, mailing out a business order that’s been on hold since we’ve been sick, getting lesson plans caught up and more planned out, visiting with my parents after my mom’s surgery (if we are all well)…goodness knows there’s much I’m not thinking of at the moment…

Here is picture thought I am sharing…

Success! Homemade naturally fermented sauerkraut with homegrown veggies. The children can’t get enough! :-D

Shhh!

This is ours. ;)

No, we don’t know the Ebay seller so it’s not a plug. ;) Just doing a little business research and found it. Just one of many out there through our sales rep. All the best to the reseller. :)

You all know where to get one from the source right?! :D {giggle}
